What’s better than a party?

A PARADE!!

Drive-By
Bir
thday Parade

Unprecedented times call for unprecedented celebrations.

Join us in celebrating the 97th birthday of an unprecedented woman!

In order to help ensure that Lois would make it to her 97th birthday, we have strictly followed CDC protocols. Therefore, we are foregoing a more traditional party and instead celebrating by surprising her with a drive-by parade. We invite you to join the parade and help us to make her day unique & special. Please have fun with this – decorate your car, make a sign to hang out the window – whatever your creative heart desires! PLEASE make a sign to put on your car (or wave out your window or sunroof) with your name so that she can see who you are from a distance.

ARTFUL

ARTFUL is a non-profit that was co-founded by Lois’s granddaughter. It provides affordable artist studios to area artists and programming for the community. ARTFUL is also one of the only handicap accessible arts venues of its kind in Greater Cleveland, which Lois finds to be of great importance.

Since the pandemic has forced the closure of group classes and events, many of the ARTFUL artists find themselves in difficult times. Your donation will help ensure they can continue to create art and contribute to the culture of our community.

Polio Global Eradication Initiative

While pregnant with her third child, Lois contracted the Polio Virus. She spent months in the hospital, and many more months rehabilitating. She was one of the lucky survivors and suffered minimal paralysis, but it has had continued effects on her mobility throughout her life.

The Polio Global Eradication Initiative has helped to bring Polio vaccinations to all parts of the world. Just as the Coronavirus Pandemic began, health officials announced they were on the verge of wiping out Polio altogether.

From the research we have done, we have strong reason to believe that Lois is the second oldest living survivor of Polio in the U.S., and as such, she’d love to see Polio declared “gone” in her lifetime. Any donation you make to this fund will be matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation.
